  • Thesis Topic:  Queering K-12 Educator Diversity Training: 2SLGBTQI+ Equity-Based Literature Circles, Commitment Statements, and Radical Resistance

  •

  • Brief summary of topic: The purpose of the study is to investigate the lived experiences of K-12 Ontario educators as they went through a 2SLGBTQI+ equity-based literature circle experience that the principal student investigator facilitated and partook in with them, as they created commitments to social justice action, and as they attempted to act on their commitments. The aim is to determine if the LC experience is effective in exposing arbitrary categories as social constructs and motivating educators to challenge heteronormative institutions/actors through their radical resistance of the status quo.
